Can you say Grizzly Adams???
I think all of this is Jennifer and Chris's fault since this all started on the Monday he stayed up there!?!?
Today we got a call from our daycare provider and she is now sick with the flu. It is a good thing all of this did not happen last week or I really would of been in trouble with Jon gone. So today Jon and Trevor are home doing who knows what. Trevor wanted to build walls and work in the basement but Jon knows its more work with him around trying to help with everything so we will have to see what they get into!!
Well this past weekend Trevor had another first, we took him bowling! He loved it!! We went with my brother and his girlfriend so the 4 of us had a lane and then we got Trevor his own lane so he could bumper bowl his heart out. Before the night was over he had bowled 4 games with 112 being his highest score. I am not sure if he had more fun throwing the ball down the alley and waiting to see how many pins it knocked over or waiting for his ball to come back through the machine. We will definatly take him again soon!!
He first has to sit and think about it
Then he rolls it.....
The he races back to see it come through the machine!
He is going for a spare & he GOT it!!
YEAH, he was so proud!!
Can you tell he was having fun?
I love how he would stand and wait to see what would happen!
By the 4th game he was very tired!!
Today is a day of relief for more then one reason. First Trevor is so much better today and at daycare since yesterday he was out with the flu. Second Jon comes home today after being gone since Sunday.....what a good day!
Today Trevor is home with the flu.....yuck! Since Jon is out of town and I needed to be at work today for lots of meetings grandma Diane has come to the rescue. He woke up this morning throwing up at 6am so I knew it would be a good day!
The sad part is he is missing school and today they where going to take a tour of Taco John's since the letter of the week is M which stands for Mexican! We will just have to eat there when he gets better.
Thanks agian Grandma Diane!!!
Yesterday was Trevor's 1/2 birthday at school!! Some of you are probably wondering what the heck that means, well if someone has a birthday in the summer the teacher sets a date where they can celebrate their 1/2 birthday so this way everyone has a birthday during school. Yesterday when we got to school he had a sign above his cubby that said "Happy Birthday Trevor 3 1/2" there was also balloons. He was in heaven!!! So everyone sang Happy Birthday to him and he got to pick 2 presents out of the treasure box and he picked the same matchbox car so he got 2 the same, go figure! He also got to wear a star on his shirt and was the special helper all day. This is such a cute idea and a way to make the kids feel good because he sure did!!
Since Jon has been gone all week Trevor and I try and find new ways to entertain ourselves and we did just that last night! Trevor took a pot and put it on his head and went in circles seeing how long he could keep it on his head. To him it was a great time and he could not stop laughing and me well I found it very entertaining!
In case you are wondering he did come up with the game all by himeself!
So continuing with the renovation and getting more into it we decided to do a couple of more things while we are at it. We have a huge closet at the bottom of our basement steps and so we decided to make the bedroom a little bigger (3 feet to be exact) so we used a little space from the closet and hallway and it really made a big difference. We then decided to downsize the doors on the big closet because too much space was being wasted. We then had to reframe all the walls and closet along with redoing all the wiring because the way it was done made no sense at ALL and the hallway and closet where so dark but we have fixed that! Here are some pictures of everything down to the studs.
This is now the doorway into the bedroom downstairs
The new doorway into the closet that is now a little smaller so we could make the bedroom bigger
Looking down the hallway for the family room
A view of the closet from the bedroom
Another view of the closet
We still have alot of work to do but have already come a long way!
Since we have moved into our new home which has been 1 year and 3 months now we have wanted to renovate the basement hallway, closet and bedroom. The family room in the basement is really nice but the rest of the basement was not up to par, it had drop down ceiling from the hallway on and ugly old tile in the bedroom and not to mention all the horrible bumps and bad taping in the sheetrock. Well with the baby on the way we now need the office upstairs for the nursery so the bedroom downstairs will become the new office/toy room. The bad news is that if you stay over night at our home you will have to sleep on a very nice blow up matress instead of a full size bed which will become Trevor's.
So just last week we thought what the heck lets get started and man did we really mean that, the basement from the hallway to the closet to the bedroom is torn down to the stone walls and nice carpet which we have covered.
When we first started Jon gave Trevor a hammer and said here you go get to work and well he did just that, he loved every minute!!
First swing
A few more after that
About a half an hour later
And back to work he goes
Through all the holiday mumbo jumbo we where able to get some stuff done around the house and one of those small items that needed to get done was changing the kitchen faucet. The one that was there when we moved im leaked all the time and was an eye soar. So last week put the new one in and it is night and day difference, we love it!
Trevor was a good helper
We where able to get rid of the water spout since our new fridge now has water in the door!
Thanks for visiting Healy Happenings and come back soon!
