School

Yesterday was my mom's birthday and since I was still on maternity leave the boys and I decided to make all the kids in her class cupcakes and suprise her at school. So when Trevor was done with school we left right for Hendricks.
When we got there the 1st graders where eating lunch in the cafeteria so Trevor walked in holding a ballon and the cupcakes to suprise grandma! She was very happy to see us! When the kids where done eating we went back to her room and had cupcakes. Then they had story time and did an activity about a bus. We where going to head out but next was free play outside and Trevor just had to go with all the kids. When they came in they had popsicles (the treat my mom brought for her birthday). Trevor was having so much fun and was being such a good boy and listener that grandma asked him to stay at school with her the rest of the day. So Carter and I went home and Trevor went to computer class with the kids and then to PE and off to the classroom for more learning. He had such a great time and was VERY tired by 4pm.
I then got a ride back over to Hendricks with Greg to have supper for my mom's birthday and after Trevor lifted a hand with helping with the new addition. It was a great night and by 830 I had one tired little boy!! Jon was golfing and got there at 830 to take us home.
Mom I hope you had a great birthday!!
Here are some pictures of Trevor at school and then after at there house.

Trevor loved every minute of school with grandma and the kids!

I worked Wed, Thurs and Fri last week to prepare for opening weekend at SDSU and then Saturday morning we took off for the Cities again for another great week with Chris and Jennifer. Jon is helping them this week again to put together their kitchen and while we are here we will partake in the Minnesota State Fair, how exciting none of us have ever attended!

My blog will be put on hold this week but will post lots of pictures when we return. Hope everyone has a great week!

On a mini vacation

Well today I am writing from Minneapolis where I sit in the hotel room while the boys take a nap (well Trevor anyway). We have been here since Thursday and will leave sometime later this week. We came up here to help Chris and Jennifer on their house (actually just Jon) while the boys and I do more fun things then one can blink an eye at with Jennifer. I did not bring my downloading device for pictures so you will have to wait until we get home but man has our schedule been full. Some of the things we have done are attending a Twins game, taking Trevor to the zoo, going to the Minneapolis Children's Museum, indoor playground and hopefully tomorrow the Mall of America.

It has been a great time up here and we will be sad when our little vacation is over. Tonight we are going to Jon's cousin's house (Chad and Kristina) for dinner and are also excited to see their 2 kids. Trevor has also loved every moment of swimming in the hotel pool (yesterday it was 3 hours straight). Vacation's are fun but man they sure ware you out!!

Okoboji

Were the heck have I been?? Well on a blogging break I guess!

So to catch you up this past weekend we went to Okoboji with Jon's family to celebrate Diane and Dennis's 40 wedding anniversary. Jon or myself have never been to Okoboji so it was a great experience, our resort was very nice with a huge indoor water park which was a bonus since the weather was only in the 60's. We also got to visit Arnold's Park and Trevor had a blast there going on all the rides. Here is a picture overload of our weekend.

Daddy's Helper

Jon has been working over time on our basement trying to get things put back together and Trevor has been at his side each and every day. We got all the concrete jack hammered up and hauled out (I should say Jon did it all) and then Monday he stayed home and got the new plumbing in and then dirt back on the top of it. So last night him and Trevor filled it back up with concrete. Jon just bought the concrete by the bag and had to haul each bag down stairs just to let you know how much work that is he hauled 20 bags at 60lbs each totaling 1200lbs man did I feel sorry for him working so hard. So they put each bag down and had to mix it with water and Trevor was a very good helper I was suprised, Jon would tell him to start mixing and he did just that.

Can you tell Trevor takes his job seriously?

During this whole project Trevor really needed to listen to Jon and at times it was tough and he got a little pouty and the one time I was done there Trevor did not like Jon's instructions so he went and stood in the corner. I went over to him and said Trevor you better help daddy he really needs you and then Jon said the same, Trevor came around the corner and said "I am not done pouting yet" Jon and I about lost it!!!

Bowling

Well this past weekend Trevor had another first, we took him bowling! He loved it!! We went with my brother and his girlfriend so the 4 of us had a lane and then we got Trevor his own lane so he could bumper bowl his heart out. Before the night was over he had bowled 4 games with 112 being his highest score. I am not sure if he had more fun throwing the ball down the alley and waiting to see how many pins it knocked over or waiting for his ball to come back through the machine. We will definatly take him again soon!!

He first has to sit and think about it

Then he rolls it.....

The he races back to see it come through the machine!

He is going for a spare & he GOT it!!

YEAH, he was so proud!!

Can you tell he was having fun?

I love how he would stand and wait to see what would happen!

By the 4th game he was very tired!!

Project Joy

This year Jennifer and I decided to do something a little more for Christmas. Last year we talked about this and never got around to it but this year we made it happen!! Jennifer found what is called Project Joy which is out of Brookings. What is Project Joy you might ask?

Project Joy is a charitable, non-profit organization, dedicated to providing children and families living in Brookings County , who are in need, an opportunity to receive holiday gifts through the generous donations of individuals, business, and organizations.

Jennifer e-mailed them and got a list of 4 kids in need with their age and first name. We then bought each of them a toy, an outfit, a hat and gloves and a coloring book with crayons. I am going to put everything together today and drop it off. Each of the kids is assigned a number and I will put that number on the present so that child is sure to get the gifts we bought them.

Black Friday we shopped in Aberdeen to purchase everything and had a fun time doing it together. We will forsure do this again next year!!!

They have a website if you are interested in helping

Thanksgiving Weekend Part 1

I am not even sure where to start with the past week. Monday my aunt had open heart surgery and everything went well and she is now home. Then on Tuesday night my grandpa was admitted to McKennan hospital for surgery on Wednesday morning so Jon, Greg, Kelsi and I spent Wednesday in a waiting room with my family. His surgery went fine and hopefully he will come home today or tomorrow.
Thursday morning we left for Langford to go to Jon's side for Thanksgiving. We where up there for 4 days and came back yesterday and man am I tired today!! The 4 days where filled with catching up with everyone, playing cards, games, hunting and shopping. Trevor went hunting again this year with the guys and loved it! They got lots of pheasants and 1 fox, Trevor really enjoyed carrying the pheasant around and showing everyone and then telling everyone that daddy let him shoot his gun with Jon's guidance of course! Here are some photos!!
Thanksgiving night Eclipse played in Langford and Jennifer, Bobbi, Bobbi's boyfriends sister and I bartended and we made $350 in tips between the 4 of us, we rocked!!!

The 2 best bartenders at the Eclipse dance!

Trevor was so proud of his pheasant!

Everyone who went hunting all weekend!
Nice glasses Jen!

One serious poker game but unfortuatly Dennis took my $5 but I took second place in the game on Saturday night.

A Fun Filled Day

Yesterday Trevor and I stayed home all day and did lots of fun stuff. The day included art and practicing letters and understanding what they ment like J is for Jon and A is for Amber and T is for Trevor. Then Trevor traced my hand and did a really good job!

Then we built tents and Trevor called the one tent the dog house (not sure why) and he would hide and I would have to go and find him, he did a great job at hiding and being quiet I was suprised.
Then when Jon came home for the day I needed a break so Trevor helped him fill bullets for his upcoming hunting trip (yep again this will be 3 weekends in a row). Jon built this little room under the steps for his loading room and Trevor thinks its the coolest room ever, he calls it a fort!

Thanks for visiting Healy Happenings and come back soon!
