100th POST!

Can you believe it, this is my 100th POST! My how the time has flown, it seems just like yesterday that I decided to start a blog. I have really enjoyed it and plan to keep doing it for a long time. Who needs a scrap book when they have a blog? Most people would list 100 things about something but I do not have that kind of time nor do I want to come up with 100 things about something so you are just going to have to settle for some interesting news!!

My sister-in-law (Jennifer) and her husband currently live in Florida but just last week she has accepted a job in Minneapolis!!! Yeah, this means that she is just going to be a car ride away instead of a plane ride. This also means she will be able to be home for every holiday and polish days and birthday parties. We can not wait and are VERY excited!! Last but not least this means she can spend more time with Trevor!!

Weekend Recap

Friday: Well Jon had asked me last week if I wanted to golf in couples night on Saturday night in Hendricks, I was all for it. So Friday night we went to Hendricks to practice for the big round! And Trevor spent a couple of hours with my mom and dad. When we got done golfing we went to find the 3 stogies and they were at Cindy and Danny's because they had just gone for a boat ride and they were in the process of catching frog's (Trevor thought this was a big deal)!! He had all kinds of things to tell us when we got there, like what a frog says: ribbit!! And he showed us how a frog jumps and he also said they felt "yucky"!!

Saturday: Jon worked another weekend on his side project he has been hammering away at. I will post details and pictures when he is done. So Trevor and I hung out before we all headed back to Hendricks for golf. Well Trevor also played in the dirt with his loader on Friday night so that is all he wanted to do Saturday but we did not have any dirt. Instead I talked him into having a snack and we agreed on applesauce, I then went to put a load of laundry in the washer and I came back to him digging applesauce with his loader!! (I came back and said Trevor you little turkey, he looked at me and said "mommy is a turkey")
So after golfing 9 holes Jon and I ended up getting 3rd place out of 21 teams which is really good considering we were only 2 strokes away from 1st place...overall we had a really good time!!

Sunday: Jon worked again on his project and so Trevor and I headed to the 51st annual Pearson reunion which was held out at the wind towers. It was a good time and it was also interesting to meet a bunch of people I did not know that I was related too. By the time we got home Trevor was exhausted so we ate supper and so when Jon got home he wanted to rock him to sleep, Trevor said he was not tired but was sleeping within 10 minutes. Jon and I then decided to head to a movie and we left Greg & Kelsi in charge of the sleeping boy. We went to the 9:30pm show of "I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry" it was alright I was just thinking it would be funnier! What a crazy weekend!

A "NEW" Shirt

Well last night uncle Jack made it home from his long trip to Florida. Him and Diane met Jon, Trevor and I for supper and told us all of his stories. He also gave Trevor a new shirt that him and auntie Jenny bought for him when they visited the alligator farm! Trevor loves the shirt!! He wore it last night when Jack gave it to him and then he also wanted to wear it to daycare today so it is already getting great use. The mouth on the alligator opens so he goes up to people and opens the alligator mouth and says "roar". Thanks again Jennifer and Jack for the shirt! (The hat he is wearing if one of Greg's that he found in the garage and decided it would match his outfit)

Left Handed?

Well, do we have a left handed little boy or a right handed little boy? Every now and then he changes and I do not think he knows which hand he is going to use! Last night he was drawing and writing on his magna doodle and he would switch off and use both hands. Maybe he will take after grandma Judy and uncle Jack and be left handed.....who knows? What do you think?

Copy Cat

Well hello everyone, I am back!! My trip for work to Sioux City Iowa was good and was actually not as bad as I thought it would be. My meetings on Tuesday only went from 9-3 and today they were only 9-noon....whaooo! We are getting a new computer system for our inventory and receiving invoices so this meeting was to train me for the new system.

Anyways, I wanted to post this video of the other night. Trevor was getting ready to head to bed but wanted to sit with Jon for a few minutes first. So this actually is a really funny story because Jon would arrange his arms a certain way and then Trevor would watch him and then copy whatever he did.....the whole situation was hilarious! I apologize for the video not being very steady, I was laughing so hard I could not hold the camera without moving it. Enjoy the video!!

Weekend Recap

First of all I want to explain why I did not post anything for last Friday. It was our annual golf tournament at work so we golfed all day at Volga and then there was dinner and drinks at my boss's house that night, so Friday was filled with outdoor excitement. Saturday and Sunday were very low key, we did not do a whole lot, well I should speak for Trevor and myself and not forJon. Jon has decided to take on a side project for our daycare provider and build her a built-in entertainment center. So he worked on that Saturday and Sunday and will continue with that this coming weekend. I will post before and after pictures for everyone to see. As well as Trevor and I Saturday morning Kelsei told us about the parade in White for Pioneer Days so we decided to take Trevor to that and he loved it!! His favorite part believe it or not was the big trucks and the tractors. (Notice in the pictures I got the back of his head because he would not take his eye off anything but then he turned around to show me he got some candy). And then Sunday we just sat around all day because Jon was working and my mom and dad took Greg and Kelsi to the Twins game!! I will see if I can find some pictures of that event, other then that it was a pretty low key weekend.

Tomorrow I will not have a post because I leave at 6am for Sioux City Iowa for a work conference and will return on Wednesday night so I will hopefully post something Wednesday night when I get back otherwise have a great week!!

A Message for Auntie Jenny!

Last night all Trevor could talk about was auntie Jenny and so I video taped what he said right before he went to bed so you can hear it for yourself......enjoy because I think it is really cute!

Corn on the Cob

Last night we had corn on the cob for supper and it has become one of Trevor's favorite things to eat. Who would of thought that a little guy would like to eat something like that. Trevor summed up last night's meal into one word "yummy"!!

A Stormy Afternoon

Well I do not know about anyone else but it was a crazy afternoon with storms, hail and the whole works. Around 4pm the sky was as black as I have seen it in a long time and then the storm hit. The temperature dropped and it got really windy and then started to hail (around marble size) this went on for about 15 minutes. Brookings was on TV last night with pictures of the storm and hail. One thing I found out was that Trevor was scared to death of this storm, then once I thought about it all the storms that he has been in have been during the night time and he has been sleeping so this was a new experience for him and one that he did not like.

Arts in the Park & The Emergency Room

Well it was another very exciting weekend for the Healy's!! It was the annual Brookings Arts Festival this weekend and I was ready!! I always go with my friend Marty and we have a guy that lives right next to the park that lets us park at his house so we do not have to walk so far. If you have to park 10 miles away by the time you walk to the park you are so tired you can not enjoy the day. So it is our tradition is that we leave the kids with the husbands and we go!! Jon and Trevor went with Jon's parents to the lake on Friday night because Jon HATES Arts in the Park and I would never want to drag Trevor around all day in the hot weather because it would be no fun for him!! This year we thought we would try something different and go really early in the morning. Our plan was the be at the park by 7am.....the park opens at 9am and the other side of the street opens at 8am but everyone always opens early for the early morning shoppers. So once we got to the house were we park we realized the owner was not up yet so we thought we would drive around and see what we could find.....nothing!! All the vendors had big trailers and campers taking up all the streets and then Marty said "hey I know the manager at Casey's maybe she will let us park next to her car on the side of the building" so she went to check and came back smiling. She said "no" we could not park next to her BUT they shut the front 2 pumps off for better traffic flow and said "go ahead and park next to the pump like you are putting gas on".......I was laughing because I thought she was kidding but she wasn't and so that is where we parked for FREE!!! It was the best spot because Casey's was right in the middle and also 25 steps from all the booths.......I am telling you it is all about who you know! I also have included a picture of my favorite buy........it is a sign that was made right there with our last name in the background and our names in the front with our wedding date, I thought it was a very cute idea and it is also something you can not buy at any store. Overall it was a great day because we were done shopping by 11am, it was awesome!! When we started in the morning no one was there, it was not hot and best of all we were not fighting other people for the last one of this or the last one of that. We are definitely doing this again next year!!!

So I drove up to the lake Saturday afternoon and spent time with the family up there and we came home early on Sunday morning. So we thought our weekend was finally calming down and we could spend the rest of the day relaxing, well we were wrong and ended up in the Emergency Room with Trevor!! After his nap yesterday he was fine and he was acting normal and when we sat down for supper I noticed Trevor's leg was really puffy and pink. Once I looked at it I noticed a nasty bite, I showed Jon and we decided to watch it and see what would happen. Within half an hour his leg had doubled and was really warm, so I called the emergency room and told them our situation and the nurse said bring him in right away. By the time we arrived at the hospital his leg was huge and red all over, as most of you would know I was freaking out!!!! The doctor looked at it and said it was a nasty bite of some kind and Trevor had a small reaction to it. He gave us a prescription for cream and told us to keep heat on it if possible. He also said it would get bigger and turn a dark black color...scary!! He said if this would of happened around his eye both of his eyes would of been swollen shut. I feel so bad for him because it hurts to walk on his leg because it is so swollen. We still do not know what bit him but I got up and checked on him like every minute and put cream on it. I posted a picture so you can see his leg before bed last night. What a scary situation!

Favorite Photo Friday

Well today is Friday once again!!! I want to post another one of my favorite photos (alright I mean 2 of my favorite photos). The first one is of Trevor on the day that he was born and the second one was taken on his second birthday right before we left for daycare. To me these two photos are amazing because he has gotten soooo big and has turned into a little boy but yet he still looks the same as when he was born! It is so much fun to watch him grow and to develop a personality but yet I miss him as a baby and the cuddling he loved to do. Have a good weekend!!

Dinner Fun

Last night at dinner I made spaghetti for Trevor and I because Jon was golfing. Trevor ate so good, a whole plate to exact. Once I was done I started cleaning up and I was not paying to much attention to him other then he was being really good just sitting in his chair. Once I realized how good he was being I noticed what he was doing.....have a look! He was taking his leftover spaghetti and hanging each individual piece over the side......isn't it amazing at what kids do sometimes!

This is also a funny from last night.......Kelsey (my brother's girlfriend) put him in the bath tub once he was done eating and he was playing in there for a really long time....like half an hour. Once he got out of the tub I was getting him dressed and he looked at me and said "mommy yucky" and showed me his hand. Then he said "wash it" I was not sure what he was getting at because his hands were squeaky clean. Then after a few minutes I realized that he was talking about the wrinkles on his hands from being in the water too long......I just started cracking up because he did not understand why those wrinkles were there. For the longest time he said "mom, come on wash".....hilarious!!

Mercedes Benz SCL600

Alright so I got this e-mail and I had to show everyone because to me this is too crazy!! This is the new Mercedes Benz, I have no clue how much it is but holy smokes this is cool. The outside looks somewhat like something from outer space but the inside looks like controls to a space ship. The doors to get in open up like the big expensive cars but the inside is what I want to comment on. First of all it has a TV in the front, now why the heck would you design a car like that, talk about an accident waiting to happen! Second of all there is no steering wheel it is a joy stick and if you ask me it would take forever to learn how to run that thing. And not to mention all the other buttons.....I will have to do more research but maybe this thing drives itself and that is why there are so many luxuries, who knows!! It is pretty classy though if you ask me!

Need I say MORE?

One night we were finishing up supper and we took Trevor's clothes off of him because he were going to give him a bath...he went missing for a few minutes and came out into the living room looking like this......need I say MORE? I am sure that I will get in trouble a few years down the road for posting this!!

4th of July Weekend Part 2

Well I do have to say that it is good to be back I feel like I have been gone for a long time. Our 4th of July weekend part 2 was once again filled with tons of fun!! We left for Roy Lake on Wednesday morning and came back on Saturday morning. In all the year's I have been with the Healy family I do not ever remember it being this nice at the lake. All the days we were up there the temperature was perfect and there was no wind, at night when we did fireworks the lake was as still as glass. It was very nice to see Jon's side of the family again. I am going to post yet another slide show because I took a million pictures and I wanted to share them all. The whole weekend was filled with swimming, boating, fireworks and eating!! Friday was great grandma Julie's 86th birthday so we went out to celebrate and Saturday on our way back we stopped in Roslyn to see great grandma Dottie. It was nice to see both of them!!~ Saturday once we got home it was used for relaxation and getting caught up on sleep. Sunday Jon and my brother golfed in a tournament in Hendricks so Trevor and I hung out all day. I hope everyone else had a good weekend!!

What is your name?

This past weekend we hit a milestone with Trevor. Friday night when Jon got home he went to get ready and took Trevor with him to shave, shower and etc.....well while they were down there Jon would point into the mirror and say "who is that" after a while Trevor caught on and learned how to say his name!!! So the whole way to Hendricks we would ask him "Trevor what is your name". Once we got to Hendricks my mom started working with him on his last name. We thought this would take some time because it is a hard last name to say when you are little. Well that did not stop Trevor......he said it over and over again all weekend long. We are so pround of him to learn all of this in one day and when he is only 2!!!!

4th of July Weekend Part 1

Well it was another crazy weekend. Since the 4th is on Wednesday I am not sure what weekend to call the 4th so I will have a weekend part 1 and a weekend part 2. Well our weekend started off with heading to Hendricks on Friday night, when we got to my mom and dad's house mom gave Trevor a hat she had bought him in the Cities and I laughed because I did not think he would wear it BUT I was wrong.....he wore it all weekend! The slideshow goes in order so it started with Friday night, then Saturday morning and then Saturday night so you can see he is wearing his hat all weekend. Friday night was the street dance in Hendricks and it was a GREAT time!! I know that most people do not like street dances or polish days but Jon and I think that is the best time of year because you get to see you friends or classmates that you have not seen in months or years. In this case about 1/2 of the girls I graduated high school with were there and it was a great time to catch up and dance the night away....as you can see from the slideshow. GOOD TO SEE YOU GIRLS!! Then Saturday morning we took Trevor down to the park were they had the fun run so he got to play on the new slide and park equipment for a while. Then we went for a 2 hour boat ride with Cindy and Danny around the lake. It was the perfect day for a boat ride, it was hot out and the lake was calm. Then we took a much needed nap for 3 HOURS!! Saturday night Trevor went with my mom and dad to Chester to my cousin's confirmation and so Jon and I went out to the derby........this is becoming a HUGE Hendricks tradition!! (This is there 5th year of having it) Every year a group of guys from Hendricks get a bunch of crappy cars and have a demolition derby. It started out as no big deal but now it is part of the list of activites all around town on the 4th of July weekend. Saturday night there was 400+ people that came from all over to watch. Steve Hemmingson from KELO LAND news was the announcer. It is FREE and they served tacos in a bag to benefit cancer. You bring your lawn chair and a beverage of your choice and enjoy the show. It lasted about 4 hours....I would seem like the kind not to go to something like this but it was awesome!! We saw 1 car catch on fire and a million fall apart into pieces. The Hendricks Fire Department and Ambulance are there the whole time just in case something happens.....I am telling you it is a huge deal. I saw people I knew from Volga & Brookings. If you have not been there before or have even heard of it you better check it out next year!!

Thanks for visiting Healy Happenings and come back soon!
