Well this last weekend it was all about Trevor and I. Jon was fishing in Waubay with his buddies so we made a weekend for the 2 of us. We mowed the lawn (Trevor was a great helper), played in the sandbox, went to watch the motorcycles downtown Brookings for the ride through (he loved this!!!) the louder they were the more that kid smiled and we also went out for supper. We had a great time together and to prove it when I put him to bed last night he said "mom your lots of fun, I love you" it almost made me cry.
So now to a very funny story about Jon's trip. Most of you know that when he goes anywhere with the Rost boys and it comes to sleeping there is always a funny story, well it happened again. Jeremy and Corey fell asleep in one bed and Jon in his own bed BUT when they woke up Jon and Jeremy where in one bed and Corey was in his own bed. So sometime in the middle of the night Jon and Corey switched spots and the funnest thing is that they all had no idea how it happened......tell me that? How do you not know when you get up at night and switch beds and why for that matter?
I am sorry Amber 2 I did not say anything because I thought you would post something on your blog......BUT the Rost girls invited us to the pool yesterday and we had a great time!! Trevor was shy right away but then they played good. Unfortunatly for about 15 minutes we got dumped on with rain but other then that it was a lot of fun and we thank them for inviting us!!! Thanks again!

Factoid
Last night I was reading one of my magazines and I told Jon this factoid that was in there and then he said "you have to put that on your blog tomorrow and see what my dad says" so Dennis this post is for you.
This little fact was out of In Touch magazine.
"Celine Dion isn't up on her environmental issues. The Palm Beach Post reported that 6.5 Million gallons of water were used last year at the home she is building in Martin County, Fla. That amount of the wet stuff--enough to fill a 50-gallon bathtub five times a day for a year--is the most water used at a residential property in the entire county and is 54 times the local average of 120,000 gallons of water a year!"
Well Dennis what do you think about that??
One more thing I would like to add is that this is my 300th post already...that is a lot of posts. I will not have anything tomorrow since I took the day off to perpare for Trevor's party. I will have lots of pictures for everyone to see on Monday.

Father's Day Weekend
Well we had a successful Father's Day Weekend! I told Jon he could decide what he wanted to do and so I thought he would pick golfing, fishing or something like that but I was wrong. What he picked you might ask??? He wanted to spend the day with Trevor and I at the zoo......so we spent the whole day at the Sioux Falls Zoo and we had a blast!!!
This picture sums up the whole day......

Front page of the Register
I know that some of you do not get the Brookings Register but my brother was on the front page of Wednesday's issue. He just took a job with the city of Brookings as a code enforcement officer. He is given a certain area of town and he makes sure everyone is up to code like bushes are trimmed, lawns are mowed, old cars not sitting in yards and so on. He also inspects new construction homes making sure they are up too code. He is has a very big job and so far he is doing great!! He told me he sends out around 90 letters a day to Brookings citizens that are not in compliance with something. So way to go Greg!!
Not a very good copy of the article but you get the idea.

As seen on Kelo-land
Did anyone watch Kelo-land news last night?? Well if you did not you missed a great story about ARAMARK at SDSU. Here it is in case you missed it!
A recent South Dakota State University grad is getting the chance of a lifetime to spend at least two months in China for the Summer Olympics.Arian Brandt never dreamed her college job at the SDSU Student Union would lead to Beijing. But when the opportunity came, she knew she had to take it. A knack for event planning earned 22-year-old Brandt a position with Aramark, the food service company that serves the Brookings campus. It's also the same company that landed the contract to serve the Olympics this summer, so she applied to work the event overseas. "And then come March, I got a call kind of randomly, a voicemail,” Brandt said. “And when I found out I called everybody! Called my mom, called my friends, I was pretty excited." She's done many events, from small refreshment tables just like this, to large university banquets and parties. But nothing will compare to what she'll encounter in Beijing. "We have five major venues which in them have five or six eating establishment in each of those. Everything from coffee shops to tea houses to special events to Pizza Hut and McDonald's," she said. "I do know I'll probably be serving athletes and the press and coaches more than spectators and stuff. I think it's like 6.1 million meals at least, in the time we're there." Brandt will certainly learn more about event planning, her chosen field, but she'll also get to experience the Olympic Games and live in another part of the world. "I've never even traveled internationally, but I'm pretty excited that I get to say, 'I lived in Beijing for two months,'" said Brandt. Her trek from Brookings to Beijing begins June 30th. Aramark is sending 6,000 food service workers and 700 managers to China for the Olympic Games.
Yes this whole story says it all, I worked with Arian for about a year when I helped with catering and got to know you pretty well. This is one of the perks of working for ARAMARK getting a chance in a lifetime to work at the olympics and going to China. I could of gone if I wanted too but that would mean being gone from my family for 6 months but it is a perfect situation for a single person. In fact the manager who trained me in when I started here is over in China also. Managers will work over there around 6 months and students or student managers will be there around 2 months. This year it was a chance to go to China and last year it was Alaska, I wonder what it will be next year??
