Well it was a nice and quiet weekend in our household. Saturday we layed around and did nothing and then Saturday night we went to Sioux Falls to do a littel shopping and out to eat. We were happy to have Diane come along with us.
Then Sunday was also spent laying around and it just reminded me how nice it is to have a weekend when you do not have anything planned.

Your Thoughts
Today I want to hear your thoughts, this story has been all over the news the past week or so and I just can not believe it. This little girl (10 years old) is dying and her dying wish is to see her father one last time but he is in prision and the horrible thing is, they will not let him out just to visit her. Here is the story from Kelo-land:
An inmate at the Yankton federal prison is appealing to elected officials and even the White House to get an early release so he can visit his dying daughter. The story of cancer patient Jayci Yaeger has struck such a chord with people, Governor Mike Rounds' office has received more than 200 emails. But since Jayci's dad is a federal prison inmate, there's little the governor can do. The Yaegers' feelings of desperation are not uncommon for families who have loved ones behind bars. A child's battle with brain cancer would be an overwhelming struggle for any family. But the challenges can seem next to impossible when one of the parents is in prison. Jennifer Anderson, executive director of Family Connection said, "There's probably a lot of guilt involved as well as a lot of frustration. There's probably a lot of things that person who's in prison would want to do for their child and provide for their child that they're not able to do so freely." Jennifer Anderson is the executive director of Family Connection, a non-profit agency that works with prison families in Sioux Falls. While she doesn't know the Yaeger family, she's seen the anguish of others who try to adjust to life with a loved on behind bars. 10-year-old Jayci Yaeger is facing the fight of her life not only medically, but emotionally, as she tries to cope with the uncertainly of whether she'll ever see her dad again. "The child's probably very confused anyway and who doesn't want a parent to make you feel better, even if you just have a cough or a sore throat." Anderson says the Yaegers should take advantage of every opportunity to communicate whether through phone calls or letters. And while prison bars can shake the bonds that hold a family together, Anderson says above all, the Yaegers must never lose hope. "Just to be able to take in and enjoy every day that you have right now and to be patient and to be optimistic, because you never know what's going to happen." Anderson says the Yaegers' situation is further complicated by a state line separating father and daughter: Jayci is being treated in Nebraska while Jason is imprisoned in South Dakota
I can not believe this!! All she wants is a visit, she is not asking for her dad to get out of jail for good. This story was also on the radio yesterday and they had people call in to tell their thoughts. One of the men who called in said "he was in prision and did his time so his bail was set for 2 weeks well they got a call telling him his mom would not live for more then 2 more days but the system would not let him out. They made him wait for 2 weeks so in the mean time his mom died and they had the funeral and everything and he was not able to attend." To me this is insane, how can this be?

A New Table
Since we have moved into our new house our round table has just not been cutting it. The kitchen is not very big and a round table makes it even smaller and another downside is that we only used 3 chairs so we could have more room in the kitchen. So when we had people over we could not sit at the table. So after doing some shopping around I found this very cute corner nook, table and bench. It fits in that room just perfect and we LOVE it, there is so much more space and we can also have more then 3 people sit at it at once. So I now have a table and 4 chairs for sale along with 2 matching bar stools (it is in very nice condition). This is just one more thing to add to my rummage sale this summer if I do not sell it before then.

A day off
Today finally came and man was I excited!! Today ment a day off, since it is Spring Break at SDSU my building has not been open all week but will re-open on Tuesday. Since I had to work at the girl's WNIT game last night I thought today would be a nice treat to stay home. So I have spent most of the day cleaning, doing laundry and playing with Trevor. Now that I just laid him down for a nap I am going to tackle some wallpaper border I have been meaning to hang up in our new laundry room.
A day off should be full of relaxing BUT not for me it is a day to catch up on house work and spending some quality time with Trevor. Today he is one excited little boy knowing that auntie Jenny & Vance are coming to his house tomorrow and also that grandma Diney and grandpa Dennis are coming to the easter egg hunt with him tomorrow. So this weekend is going to be filled with seeing relatives for Easter and of course the Easter Bunny!!
Happy Easter to everyone!
PS...for those of you who follow basketball the SDSU girls lost last night by 7 points so their season has come to an end...very sad.

More Updating
Then I did this......
Now it looks like this!
When you first walk in the wall with the window I painted the maple sugar color and then everything else I painted misty green and it made a huge difference. The room is so much more brighter and fresh.

Forwards
Normally I do not like forwards and half the time I do not read them. When one gets sent to me I just look at the title and if it sounds good then I read it and if it sounds dumb I just delete it. Once I open it if it is miles long I delete it but if its short I spend the time reading it. Yesterday my husband sent me a forward and the title was "Survivor, South Dakota Style" and this really had my attention so I had to read it. I do not like the reality show Survivor but I was curious to see what South Dakota style ment. Once I read it I found myself laughing and realized that was a pretty good one. So today I thought I would share it with everyone....happy Tuesday!
Due to the popularity of reality shows, South Dakota is planning to do its own, titled 'Survivor - South Dakota Style.' The contestants will start in Sioux Falls, travel over to Watertown and on to Aberdeen. Then they will head south to Mitchell, Yankton, west to Winner and Murdo. From there they will proceed west to Rapid City and Spearfish. Then they will go east to Pierre and Brookings and the final leg will be back to Sioux Falls. Each will be driving a pink Volvo with California license plates and alarge bumper sticker that reads: 'I'm gay. I'm a Vegetarian. Beer is harmful to your health. Republicans suck. Hillary in 2008. Deer hunting is murder, and I'm here to confiscate your guns.' The first one that makes it back to Sioux Falls alive wins.
Marilyn I really thought your might enjoy this and Jennifer I want to know what you are thinking.

Quiet Weekend
Overall it was a quiet relaxing weekend. Saturday was spent laying around watching movies with a little cleaning and laundry. But then on Saturday night Diane and Dennis took Trevor over night so Jon and I headed to Sioux Falls with another couple and we dropped the men off at the Sportman's Show and we were off shopping. Then we got some dinner and headed to a movie. The movie started at 9:45pm so by the time we drove home it was 2am because of the time change so I was dragging (we are getting way to old to stay out like that anymore).
Then Sunday we went to Ivanhoe to pick Trevor up and went to the beef dinner for lunch. After that we took a very crabby boy home and we all took a 3 hour nap, yep thats right 3 hours!! The rest of the evening we were bums and watched TV. I just love weekends like that when you have no plans and can just be lazy.
Although I am very much ready for SPRING!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JON!!
This is our very FIRST picture taken together, I was a senior in high school and we had just started dating. Wow we really look young!
Since Jon was too old for me to take to Prom my senior year he took me to SF for a special evening where we had dinner (where the ceiling fell in on us WHILE we were eating) and did tons of other fun things.
This picture was taken when he was stationed in Colorado before heading to Iraq, I flew down there a couple of times to be with him before he headed overseas.
Here he is spending time in his favorite chair with our favorite puppy dog.
Time for a quick smile at his sister Jennifer's wedding.
Trevor & Daddy checking out the pool at our resort in Florida. Trevor was a little over 1 at the time.
During the same trip to Florida we made a stop at Daytona Beach!
Jon and his sister Jennifer shaking a leg at her wedding.
Happy Birthday Jon you are a great father, dad and husband!!

14 More Tickets
Well for last Saturday night's drawing we had a total of 14 powerball tickets and when I checked the numbers Sunday morning from what I could tell we did not win anything. So Monday morning I came to work and told everyone we did not win but the jackpot went up $20 million for Wednesday's drawing. So last night Jon and I stopped at a gas station and I thought I would check the tickets just in case I was wrong and come to find out I WAS WRONG. We won $28...geee wiz! So if you do the math that is 14 tickets because we always play $2 in case we would win the powerplay. So it is destiny that we get 14 more tickets for tomorrow's drawing!! I am telling you I feel it in my bones that this is a sign that we will win something!! That would be awesome......Marilyn I know you had over 100 tickets did you win anything??? Doesn't anyone else play the lotto, you just never know!
