Great Entertainment

One of my great friend's is getting married in two weeks and since she left SDSU I have only been able to see her twice, one of those times was for our 6 year class reunion. As soon as she was done with college she moved to California and has been delivering babies every since. Well the good news is that she has moved back into this area (Minneapolis to be exact) and she is home now in Ivanhoe until after her wedding. So last night I invited her and her husband to be along with a few other people over to have supper. Becca was unable to make it since she is now a Volleyball coach for Lincoln HI and Kathy also did not make it because she is 8 months pregnant and is now on bedrest until her August 18th due date. So to make the night it was Dianne, Jeff, Steph, Anne and myself but we must not forget Trevor.

We had a great time!!!! It was so good to see Dianna again and to hear about her experiences in California. For supper I made us homemade Lasagna, garlic cheesebread, fresh fruit with a yogurt dip and a vodka slush. Thanks again for coming over girls and Jeff.

A New Living Room

As I had told you in a previous post I decided to change things up a bit in our living room. When we first moved in it only made sence to put all the big furniture downstairs since it was a bigger living room BUT whenever we had people over there was never enough room to sit upsairs, someone always had to sit on the floor. Honestly I really did not like the set-up anyway. SO last week before I left for Sioux City we decided to bring the leather sectional couch upstairs and the most comfortable chair in the world upstairs and then the couch and rocker we had upstairs to downstairs. Jon was not sure thinking the furniture would be too big and I was iffy myself and man was it hard work to switch everything BUT in the end we LOVE IT!! The couch we had upstairs was too wide so it took up a lot more room then you would think. Now with our sectional couch we have tons of room for everyone. What do you think?

A Weekend at Home

For the past 3 weekends we have been gone doing something and it was nice to just have a weekend at home even though it was filled with tons of things going on. Saturday morning I had Rebecca Steffes shower to attend in Ivanhoe, she had a great turnout. It was from 9-11am so that took up most of the day since it was in Ivanhoe.

In the picture from left to right: Anne Gillund, Rebecca Steffes, Steph Engesmoe and ME. All 3 of these girls I graduated with in High School.

So the rest of Saturday was filled by the time I got Trevor home to give him a nap. In the meantime Jon was in Sioux Falls helping his uncle Steve move and so they got back to our house around 5:30pm and Trevor was in need of going to his grandma and grandpa's house for the night so that is just what they did. Jon and I took advantage and got to go to out to Dinner and a movie (we went to StepBrother, great movie very funny).

Sunday we drove to Ivanhoe and picked up Trevor and then headed to The Pearson Family Reunion at the Wind Towers. They had a great turn-out! I just love it up there it is in the middle of a corn field so we had the whole inside and outside to ourselves. After we ate they drew for prices and "my name" was the first one drawn so I recieved a Pearson Family cook book. Then it was home again for a nap!!

Had to take a picture of the view

Then Sunday afternoon was spent taking a nap and then Jon and I cooked up a bunch of walleye that we had in the freezer for supper and it was soooooooo good!!!

A Small Flood

Since we have moved into our new house I just have not been happy with the upstairs family room at how the furniture lays out, not sure why it just always kept bugging me. So Tuesday night before I left for Sioux City Jon and I moved furniture all around from bringing furniture from the basement upstairs to taking what was upstairs to the basement. All that is besides the point and I will post a picture of our new and entertaining living room and we both LOVE! Back to my point about this post, while Jon and I were figuring things out and deciding what we wanted to do Trevor was playing outside in his sandbox but then came up by the house and was playing trucks on the patio. Him and Mydland where just sitting there watching us so we did not play that close of attention.

We had been moving stuff and thought we better check on the boys and man am I glad that we did. Trevor found the hose, turned it on and was washing off his trucks and in no time had filled up the basement window well with water.....full to the top. So what happens when you fill a window well up with water??? The water starts to come through the basement window......yep that is just what it did. We had water all over! Trevor had no clue that he was doing wrong and he said "mom the big hole needed water in it"!

A Funny

Not much to say today....except I do want to share this video that I recieved in a forward. I normally do not look at this stuff since most of it is so fake BUT this one is really funny. This guy is a motivational speaker and to end his speech he does what is called the Evolution Dance. The first time I saw it I thought of when we go to wedding dances because we all know that we do it.

I will also be on a short blogging break since I will be in Sioux City IA for work on Wednesday and I will be back on Thursday night, enjoy the video!!

Crazy Weekend

Well as you all know this past weekend we went to Minneapolis to go to a Twins Game and we had a GREAT time. We left Friday morning in 3 vehicles (all 14 of us) and as soon as we got to the motel we checked-in and headed for the tram to take us to the Metrodome.

We got there fairly early so we took pictures and then decided to go closer towards the field since the players were warming up. Jon and Trevor were looking over the railing when Jon out of no where says to one of the players "hey how about a ball for the kid" so the pitcher for the Twins Dennys Reyes #37 threw Trevor a ball.....Jon yells back "HEY, thanks man" he just smiled and waved and in the meantime Trevor is beaming!!! How awesome is that?? So after we took pictures I made him give it to me so we would not lose it and man was he mad at me. So Jon being the softy that he is went and bought him a Minnesota Twins truck.

Saturday was spent swimming and shopping at the Mall of America (all day to be exact). And Sunday we went swimming again and then headed back to the mall to let Trevor go on some rides. We had a great weekend and I took lots of pictures to prove it. I hope everyone enjoys them!!

Twins Game

Well today I took the day off because we are almost out the door and headed to the Twin Cities to partake in a Twins Game tonight. I found the tickets on-line (it was a gift for my dad for father's day) and PLUS I have never been to a Twins game before....I know do not laugh. The weekend will be even more fun because there are 14 of us going so it should be a blast. The game is tonight at 7:10pm so look for all of us 23 rows above 3rd base. The rest of the weekend will be filled with shopping at the mall and drinking beer. I hope everyone else has a good weekend!!

P.S. Thanks to our dog sitter grandma Diane, not sure what we would of done without your help....THANKS!!

4 Day Vacation

Most of you I am sure have been looking at my blog daily and wondering where the heck I have been. Well work was somewhat busy last week since I was taking Thursday and Friday off I had to get stuff done before I could leave so that ment no time for bloging BUT I am back and ready to post!

I took Thursday and Friday off so Jon and I could head to the Cities and go to ValleyFair with the cousins....we had a great time!! Other then Jon screaming like a guy on every ride and me becoming deaf in my left ear all the rides where awesome. I was very proud of myself going on almost of the scary ones (including wild thing that I will never go on again)! The restaurant that we ate at on Thursday night was very good but the one bad thing was they had oyster shooters and you know what that means when you are a Healy.....unless you are 12 or under or pregnant you will take one, no excuses. When Mike asked I said "no" but he insisted I take one and then said "oh come on they are in a small glass and you will hardly taste it". Then the moment of trust came and I almost died.....like at the size of that glass!!! It was darn near a drink, there was no way I was drinking that, besides the oyster was about 4 lbs....YUCK!
Friday we had to hurry home since it was Arts in the Park we had company staying at our house. My aunt and uncle always have a booth so they stayed from Friday night until Sunday afternoon. Then we were lucky enough to have Jennifer and her friend Melissa also stay with us we had a great time except for Jon getting food poisioning Saturday night (he had seafood pasta) and now that it is Monday night he is still on the couch not very far from the bathroom.

So as you can see one crazy week...I am glad it is over because I am one tired person!

I wanted to add one more picture (Chris I thought you might like this one) Saturday night after dinner the girls wanted to drive around and look at SDSU so Jon bought both of them and himself a 40oz bottle of beer, they are so proud!

4th of July Fun!!

I do not even know where to start! We had a great and very long weekend. Let me start at the beginning.

Thursday: After work we headed to Hendricks and we headed out to a guy's house who lives over by Toronto and he was having a party with kid blow up games and all. They had a fireworks show that cost $10,000, a band that was $5,000 and food for $3,000 so it was not just a little party. We were there almost 6 hours and had a great time.

Friday: We woke up and headed to the park to watch the homemade boat races at the beach. Those are the pictures when Trevor was playing in the water with his clothes on (red shirt) we sat on the beach and watched the race while he played and got completely soaked with water. Then we headed to Cindy and Dan's cabin and had a picnic and then got ready for the boat parade. We were one of probably 40 boats and this lasted about an hour. Trevor then caught a quick nap before we headed back down to the park for the Whopper Feed and then on to the Street Dance.

Saturday: After eating a great breakfast at the cafe we headed to the lake where we spent most of the day by the water and riding in Curt's convertible to the parks. Saturday night Diane watched Trevor and we traveled to a place called the Lodge for drinks and that was also a great time.

Sunday: After Trevor and Jon were done fishing bright and early we ate breakfast and played in the water for a little bit Trevor hit the worst part of the day (very very crabby) this was our que to pack up and get on the road. Not more then driving for 5 minutes he was out!! We got home in time to unpack, relax and watch a movie.....what a weekend!

Figuring things out

Well as of last night I had read the first 70 pages of the manuel for my new camera so it was time to play with the lens. I went around the house and took some pictures using the lens, zoom and more. The thing I love about it is that the closer you get to an object the more it blurs out the background so you can focus on what you are taking a picture of. Here are some of the photos that I took.

Mydland stood still for about 1 picture so then I moved to my landscaping.

Okay enough of that I do not want to make any fall asleep. I hope everyone has a great 4th of July and I will of course have tons of pictures on Monday!!

Pictures, Pictures and more Pictures

Here are some pictures that I took with my new camera. Last night we went to Ivanhoe for Kumla and to visit with Grandma Dottie so it was a great chance to play with my camera. The top two pictures are my favorite. Enjoy!!

Thanks for visiting Healy Happenings and come back soon!
