Well I want to wish everyone a
Happy Halloween!! I am sure most of you are excited about going trick or treating or just passing out candy! Trevor does not know what to think, this past week we have been trying to teach him to say "Trick or Treat" sometimes he will say and others he will not. We will have to see what happens tonight!
Best New Graphics .comI other thing I wanted to comment on was the South Dakota wind. I posted a blog at the beginning of the week talking about all the leaves that we now have. Well after a windy night and that is no longer a problem take a look at the before and after pictures. At least there is one good thing about the wind.....right?
Sorry this picture is so dark it was taken this morning and it was not very light out.
Last night we finished up a couple of things in the house such as putting up trim work and fixing a door. Trevor was all about helping daddy with this so when it was time to fix things in his room Jon let him hold the nail gun and boy did Trevor feel proud. (Can you tell) He was so talented that he even held his cup at the same time.
So this weekend we got all moved in and spent out first night in our new home on Friday night! It feels good to be all moved in but there is still tons of unpacking to do.
Well it is great to say we are all done with the remodel on the ML of our new home. Jon and I are very happy with the finished product. Today I will post before and after pictures of the 3rd bedroom on the ML and that will be our office and then I will post pictures of our new kitchen and we just LOVE.....thanks to my brother Greg!! I will start with the office:
Well the next room that we have finished is Trevor's bedroom. Between his room and the kitchen that is where the most work took place. Here is what we have done:
- New paint...I do not think he would of liked pink
- New wood blinds
- New outlets and covers
- New light fixture
- New floor vents
- The last owner painted the trim work around the windows and the window jam both pink so that was a job in itself to take all that out and replace with new stained trim to match the rest of the rooms. Good thing I have a husband who knows how to do all of these things, you did a great jon Jon!!
This room was very hard to take pictures of because the doorway sits at a weird angle. I also took a close up of the border we put up......can you believe it has big trucks on it??
Well we have another room finished!! Yeah.....we are getting closer to move in which will be this weekend. Last night my brother helped us out and we got most of the kitchen done and all of the ML Family Room done. I will post before and after pictures of the whole process. The thing I loved most about this house is that the whole ML has natural hardwood floors except for the kitchen and bathroom and they have ceramic tile. Here is a list of what we did to the family room:
- New paint
- New wood blinds
- New outlets and covers
- New ceiling fan
- New floor vents
The pictures are not that great because I guess I was to excited to get started because I only have 1 before picture. And I am not sure what is wrong with my camera and why the picture has so many spots.
Well the house is getting closer. I thought I would share the one room that is totally done and that room is the ML bathroom. Here is a list of the things we have done just to this room:
Painted the walls
New outlets and outlet covers
New light switch and cover
The shower had shower doors so we took those out and replaced with a shower curtain
New floor vent
New decor
New wood blinds
This room turned out really good, by removing the shower doors it really made it look bigger in there and everything else really updated the room. Now I just have to fill it with "cute stuff" as Dennis and Jon would say! Wasn't the paint job cute before??
Let me know what you think!
Well it is official Jon and I have bought a home. We closed this morning at 9am and I took tomorrow and Monday off to paint my little heart out. So I will not post anything for a couple of days...have a good weekend!
Well today is the day of our final walk though at our new house. Originally the seller wanted it to be at 6pm tonight but now she has moved it to 4pm and she has also agreed to let us in after the walk though papers are signed!! Even though we do not close until tomorrow she does not care because she is moving to another state today. The closing will be tomorrow morning at 9am and then it is all ours.....YEAH!
I plan on posting before and after pictures of all the rooms so you can see when I said painting fun I really meant it.
First of all I am sorry I did not post anything yesterday, it was a very busy Monday.
For those of you who do not know today is Boss' Day! I was unaware of this and when I came into work I thought it was funny how my employees were being so nice but I did not think anything of it. Then I went to have my morning bowl of soup and noticed that Marie my head cook had put out Chicken and Wild Rice (my favorite)! Then once I got back into my office I had a delivery from Flowers on Main.....with a card that said "To our favorite boss, love your Medary gang" how nice was that???? Isn't this the cutest thing you have ever seen??? My employees are so sweet.
Alright so this past weekend was nice because we did nothing but relax. Jon was busy working on another side project so Trevor and I spent the weekend hanging out. Saturday my mom invited us over for lunch and uncle Danny came over also and Trevor was excited about this because he rode his lawn mower tractor over and Trevor wanted to sit on it. So thanks to Danny Trevor got his wish.
Other then that we did nothing except pack because last weekend was the last one that we would be at Greg's house because we get our house in 2 DAYS!!!!! Yeah!
Well yesterday I went to our phone company and set-up an account for our new home. I asked about getting our old number that we had when we lived in our last house and the lady told me that normally once that number is disconnected they have to leave it sit for 3 years before they activate it again. BUT she made an exception for me and we got our old phone number back: 605-697-5559, I hope everyone writes this down in there address book!! Have a good weekend!
Well I have been with Aramark for 2.5 years now and we have great insurance. So I decided to get an annual eye check-up because I have never had one in my life. The eye doctor told me that I have better then 20/20 vision but since I am on the computer all the time the muscle in the back of my eye is working overtime and that could eventually be bad news some day. So to solve the problem he gave me a prescription for glasses only for when I am on the computer. I picked a pair out and they told me they would be in this Friday. Well I got a call today and they are in, I am wearing them right now and it is taking sometime to get used to but I think they will be alright.
I am one happy person today, I did not have to report to the court house for jury duty!! Last night I called in like I was supposed to and they told me that the case had been settled outside of court and we did not need to report!! Yeah!
Well yesterday Jon got home around mid-afternoon and once he was all unpacked and settled we decided to take Trevor out to the pumpkin patch east of town. He had such a blast trying to pick out which one he wanted. There prices were from $1 - $5 depending on the size, so we ended up with 2 small, 2 medium and 1 huge one. At this same place they also have raspberries you can pick so we also did that. We had such a great time, enjoy the photos.
On their way to find the best pumpkin.
Trevor was determined to get this one.
Trevor & Daddy trying to find the right one.
Trevor found one just his size.
Trevor's prized possession! Daddy & Trevor working hard finding raspberries.
Trevor was in search for raspberries!
The Final Result!
Well this weekend it was all about Trevor and I. Jon left early Friday morning to go antelope hunting in Faith SD and will return this evening. So the whole weekend Trevor and I founds lots of things to do. Friday night we met my parents, Cindy and Danny in Toronto for supper.
Saturday we went to my parents house for breakfast and then Trevor helped my mom clean windows. And then Saturday evening we went to Ivanhoe to see Grandma Diane and Grandpa Dennis. Diane showed Trevor something new that she had bought him for her house....it was a BIG BOY bed!! Yeah, he was so excited and he will try it out next weekend because he is going to spend the weekend keeping her busy. Then we ate supper and went back home.
Sunday we went to Sioux Falls and did a little shopping and spent the rest of the day relaxing. Overall it was a great weekend just to bond with Trevor.
Last night after I picked Trevor up from daycare he wanted to play outside and ride his bike. I told him he could because I had to clean out my car. Trevor is really good when we are outside, he knows not to go out in the street and all that good stuff and normally if he goes out of my sight he will tell me. So anyways I was cleaning out my car and he was playing in the front yard (I could see him out of the corner of my eye but paid no attention to what he was doing) then a few minutes later he came up to me and said "mommy what is this" and held out his hand. At this point I almost died!!!!! He had picked up dog poop......YUCK! We are very good about cleaning up when the dogs go but we must have missed a spot because Trevor found some! Needless to say Trevor became very familiar with the fraze "sanitizer".
Well yesterday when I got home I opened up the mail and found a letter from the clerk of courts and sure enough it was a letter to me saying that I have to report for Jury Duty at 8:45am on Oct 10 at the Brookings Court House. My current term is from 10/1/07 through 12/31/2007.
When they ask me all the questions during my interview I am really going to fib and tell them the things that they do not want to hear so then they can say, "oh well I guess you can go". I bet it really does not happen that way. I can not believe this has happened to me!
Well it was a weekend full of festivities here in Brookings, it was HOBO DAYS! First of all I want to brag because Trevor got to sit in the BUMMOBILE for a picture, I do not know of any other 2 year old that have ever gotten to do this, it was a very big deal!! Saturday was the big parade and it lasted about 1 hour and 20 mins (it was a long one). Trevor loved every minute of it, especially the fire trucks!! Take a look at the picture of when he saw the chicken, it was hilarious he was so excited to see it and then when I asked him to take a picture with it he held on to my mom for dear life. Then the football game kicked off at 2pm and we won 46-ZERO so today the bookstore is having a sale for every touchdown we scored on Sat it is 5% off....so that totals 25% off everything in the store!
Thanks for visiting Healy Happenings and come back soon!
